....and of course by the time we got there the sun was out and we could have spent the whole afternoon on the beach. In fact by the time we reached the roundabout with the N237 just 4km from the house, the clouds had gone and there was promise of sunshine.
Once over the bridge (summer time toll 16.50 euro - can you believe?) we drove to the end of the island to the lighthouse and had a mouch around the precints butd id not join the line of people waiting to climb to the top of the 19th century light. From there we pottered down to St Martin and after enjoying a strol, with fabulous ice creams and a sit with a cup of coffee in a quayside cafe, we stayed on to have our early dinner in Le Skipper. Fabulous weather the whole time, although by the time we finished dinner and the sun was low in the sky, and the breeze had gottten up, we had cooled off enough to get back in the car and pootle back to Nantilly.
A lovely day.
